Blackening is a cooking technique popularly associated with Cajun cuisine. New Orleans chef Paul Prudhomme brought blackened redfish (or red drum) to prominence, and the technique is often applied to other delicate white fish such as catfish.

Typically, red drum, catfish, shrimp or chicken is seared over high heat after being liberally coated with this bold seasoning. The high heat and spice blend forms a forms a crispy crust and chars the blend from orange to black.

Without searing, Cajun Blackening Blend offers a zesty, spicy, reddish-orange seasoning that can be added to pasta dishes, grilled or fried vegetables, fries, chips and popcorn.

Ingredients: Salt, Spices, Paprika, Onion, Sugar, Contains 2% or less of Garlic, Silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent).
